Kat’s new client needs help finding a stranger from a spontaneous romantic evening. All she has is his name and a vague description. While Kat usually wouldn’t take such a case, her client is insistent and continuously offers her more money. With no other clients to attend to, Kat figures there’s no harm in looking. But when her magic reveals something she’s never seen before, she can’t stop the investigation until she understands what it means. And the way her client gets more desperate and demanding, Kat doesn’t have much of a choice.

While searching for the mystery man, Kat not only runs into her old coworkers, but also her assistant’s former employer. As if Kat’s stress wasn’t high enough, the US enters another war. Political tension is on the rise again and she has had enough of the past coming back already.
